Come out to our monthly meeting at NEFF Brewing to discuss urbanist issues, both local and national, and get to know other Tulsans who are interested in those issues. This month, we'll be talking to Kristine Hadeed about the role of tenant's rights in the cause of affordable housing. Hadeed is Project Organizer for ACTION Tulsa, a local broad-based organization that is currently forming the city's first Tenant Association. Amidst skyrocketing rents, lacking legal protections, and rising evictions, the Tenant Association is a way to build community power that can deepen our understanding of local housing issues and effect real change.

This will be an open discussion of ways to get involved, both as an individual and as a crew. If you have a project or a cause you'd like to bring to the Urbanist Crew's attention, this is the night to join us.

Why we exist: To advocate for a built environment that creates an equitable city by arming members with the knowledge and tools to shape Tulsa’s urban future.

Things we care about:

  • Community-centered design
  • Placemaking
  • Transportation & Housing
